My interest in Africa started in 1998 when I took my first West African dance class at the Dance Complex in Central Square Cambridge, Ma.
Since then, I have helped build a few schools in Mali, West Africa through the Build A School in Africa Project. Led by the amazing Judy Lorimer, the Build a School in Africa Project runs an exciting performance of African dance and music, called “African Rhythms” each spring. In 2002 and 2006 I participated in two Cultural Studies programs in Mali (2002) and Senegal (2006). Please watch some videos from both trips.
